AI Agents: 3 Honest Experiments (Real Results)

AI agents experiments tested by Alamin AI Insights

What I’m Learning From Real AI Agents Experiments

These are my honest AI agents experiments — real attempts, not theory. I’m not a developer, so I’m not writing from a place of already knowing how agents are supposed to behave. I’m testing them the way anyone with a regular job and a curious streak would: pointing them at a real task, watching what happens, and writing down the truth even when it’s messy.

Most content about AI agents either oversells them as magic or buries you in technical jargon before you’ve even seen one work. I wanted something in between — a running record of what agents can actually do right now, for someone without a computer science background. So far that’s meant testing agents on my own inbox, my own messy data, and my own hosting and infrastructure once a laptop stopped being enough to run things reliably.

Every experiment here follows the same honest approach: I try the task for real, I note exactly where the agent succeeded or failed, and I skip the polish. If an agent deleted something it shouldn’t have, or handled a task better than I expected, both get written up the same way — plainly, and without pretending I knew the outcome in advance.

You’ll also find crossover here with my Tools & Reviews — since testing AI agents often means testing the tools built around them too, and it’s hard to separate one from the other honestly. New experiments get added as I run them, whether they go well or not.

AI Agents & Tools I Rely On

A few tools kept showing up across these experiments, so I’ll mention them here rather than repeat myself in every post. EMPLA.IO is the AI email agent I tested directly on my own inbox. When agent workloads outgrew my laptop, Database Mart is what I turned to for reliable hosting. NordVPN runs in the background on every test, since agents touching real inboxes and real data made privacy a non-negotiable. And ZOVIZ is the tool I used to put a face on this project in the first place, back when I was still figuring out what “Alamin AI Insights” even looked like.
