AI Hosting Infrastructure: 4 Costly Lessons I Learned

What I’ve Learned About AI Hosting Infrastructure So Far

These are my honest AI hosting infrastructure lessons — the unglamorous part of building AI agents that nobody warns you about until your laptop can’t keep up. I’m not a developer, so I didn’t start this project thinking about servers, uptime, or storage. I started it thinking about AI agents — and then quickly learned that agents doing real work need somewhere real to run.

Most AI hosting infrastructure content is written for people who already know the terminology. This isn’t that. This is what I learned by hitting the wall myself — the moment a local setup stopped being enough, and I had to figure out, from zero, what actually needed to change and why, including testing dedicated hosting through Database Mart once local processing power ran out. That meant real decisions about where to host things, what specs actually mattered versus what was marketing noise, and how much I could afford to get wrong while still learning.

Every write-up here follows the same approach as the rest of this site: I document what I tried, what broke, and what I’d do differently. If a hosting choice turned out to be overkill, I say so. If something failed under real load, that’s in here too — because the failures usually teach more than the smooth wins do.

This section connects closely with my AI Agents experiments and my Tools & Reviews — since most of my AI hosting infrastructure decisions came directly from trying to keep an agent running reliably, not from theory. New lessons get added as I run into them, mistakes included.

4 Prompt Engineering Techniques Explained: CoT, ToT, ART, RAG

Ask an AI a complex question, and it will almost always reply with absolute confidence. The problem? Confident doesn’t mean correct. To solve this, researchers developed powerful techniques that force models to slow down, explore alternatives, use real tools, and ground their answers in actual source documents instead of fluent guessing.

Tools I Used to Build My AI Blog: 3 Picks (The One I Almost Skipped)

I put off branding for months. Writing articles felt like the real work — logos felt like decoration. These are the three tools I used to build my AI blog, and branding, the one I nearly left out, turned out to matter the most. I was wrong about that, and figuring out why is what…
